My Review

Author Clark Rich Burbidge weaves a wonderful fantasy tale in which honor, bravery, and loyalty save the day! A delightful read for any age, Giants in the Land will have you rooting for Thomas during his adventures to distant lands on a dangerous quest. Encountering many challenges along the way, Thomas demonstrates great wisdom and courage in order to help his village through a very difficult crisis: the giants have disappeared leaving the people to fend for themselves. Dependent upon the giants to maintain order and progress in society, the sudden disappearance causes widespread panic among the villagers. When the mayor issues a plea for several brave citizens to make the treacherous trek to find the giants and bring them back, only one volunteers. Testing all faculties, Thomas fights wolves, mudslides, hunger, and the elements, pushing his body, mind, and judgement to the limit. An action packed journey from start to finish, Giants in the Land will leave you sitting on edge.

Kudos to Burbidge for crafting a male lead truly worthy of role model status. We find in Thomas an honorable hero, who is kind-hearted and hard working. As a devoted husband and an enamored father, I find the integrity of Thomas’ character a refreshing change to the overabundance of self-centered and impulsive protagonists pushed on the market today.

Parents, gather your children before bed, snuggle up under the covers, and enjoy reading this delightful tale together.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

  1. One way I have been helping is that I work with special needs adults. A lot of people think they need to be treated like children but they don’t! They know more about life than a lot of people I know. I have been trying to change others’ views on how special needs need to be treated with respect and kindness and just like a regular human being by telling stories from work and sharing their feelings on things. Just because they are special needs doesn’t mean they need u to take pity in them. It just means they may ne

    1. Need you to drive them somewhere or help them write something or help them eat. We all need a little help sometimes. Just some of us need it more than others, but that doesn’t mean we can’t think for ourselves even if it seems that way 😉

Dear Su and Rob, Thank you for taking time to review my new book, ‘Giants in the Land’. I was especially pleased to see that you took time to really understand the characters in whom I put so much of my heart and appreciated the focus of the book. Since I am so close to my own writing I often feel my own opinion is unreliable so it is so satisfying when the heart of the message is identified so clearly by readers. If you would like some giveaways in connection with the book, please let me know by contacting me on my website, facebook or email. We have some great shirts that have been very popular with young and old alike. They have the message printed on the front “Live with the Heart of a Giant”.

    Thanks again,

    Clark
